It gives me immense pride and a deep sense of responsibility to serve as the President of the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists, Nagpur City Branch (ISA NCB) for 2025–26.

Anaesthesiology today is far beyond the operating room. We stand at the crossroads of surgery, critical care, emergency medicine, pain management, resuscitation and perioperative medicine. From the first breath to the last beat that we fight to preserve, the anaesthesiologist is there—quietly vigilant, constantly prepared and always responsible.

This year, we have chosen a theme that reflects not only our profession, but also our responsibility towards the world around us: “ANAESTHESIOLOGIST – GREEN MINDS BEHIND MASKS”. A green mind is not just about reducing waste or conserving resources. It is about thinking differently, practising responsibly and creating a sustainable future for healthcare.

And while we look towards the future, there is one responsibility that deserves our highest priority: “SAFE ANAESTHESIA – RIGHT OF EVERY MOTHER AND CHILD”. Every mother deserves to enter a delivery room with confidence. Every child deserves safe care. And every family deserves to know that an anaesthesiologist is an essential guardian of their loved one’s safety. This mission will therefore remain at the heart of our activities throughout the year.

But this tenure is not going to be just about conducting programmes. It is about creating an impact. We have planned an exciting blend of academic excellence, innovative CMEs, workshops, postgraduate teaching initiatives, quizzes, skill-based programmes, public awareness campaigns, CPR and resuscitation drives, and meaningful community outreach.

We also want to take our profession beyond the walls of our hospitals—to the community, to students, to young doctors and to society at large. Because awareness creates confidence. Education creates competence. And competence creates safer patients.

At ISA NCB, we also believe that the strength of a society is not measured by the number of events it conducts, but by the number of lives and professionals it positively influences. Therefore, this year, I want our branch to be more than an academic platform. I want it to be a family of anaesthesiologists—where seniors inspire, young colleagues contribute, postgraduates learn, and every member feels that ISA NCB truly belongs to them.

As President, my vision is simple:
Learn more.
Connect better.
Serve wider.
And make anaesthesia safer.

I invite each and every member of ISA NCB to be a part of this journey. Bring your ideas. Bring your energy. Bring your enthusiasm. Because a President can lead the way—but it is the collective spirit of its members that makes a society truly great.

Let us make ISA NCB 2025–26 a year that is not merely remembered for the programmes we conducted, but for the difference we made. Let us think green. Let us work together. Let us inspire the next generation. And above all, let us continue to stand behind every patient with knowledge, compassion and safe hands.

Because behind every successful surgery is an anaesthesiologist. And behind every safe anaesthesia is a commitment to care.
