COLS Activity at Central Jail Nagpur
On the 31st of January 2024, ISA Nagpur City Branch conducted a crucial Compression Only Life Support (COLS) activity at Central Jail, Nagpur, aimed at empowering first responders with life-saving skills. Led by Dr. Gauri Arora, President of ISA NCB, the session began with an enlightening discussion on the multifaceted roles of anaesthesiologists, including their contributions as intensivists, pain physicians, and frontline workers during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Following Dr. Arora’s insightful presentation, Dr. Dilip Wasnik, Honorary Secretary of ISA NCB, and Dr. Kirti Gujarkar, Executive Member, demonstrated COLS techniques and provided hands-on training to the attendees. Approximately 100 police personnel from Central Jail, Nagpur, along with their family members, actively participated in the session.
The event also saw the donation of a COLS chart to the Central Jail authorities, further enhancing their emergency preparedness. The initiative was met with appreciation from the officials, underscoring the importance of equipping first responders with vital life-saving skills.
