Fees Bye law

i) Life time achievement awardees of ISA NCB shall be charged 50% (Fifty percent)of the registration fees for any programme conducted by ISA NCB irrespective of age. (Amendment no 1 (4) dated 21/4/21012 regarding free registration of CME deleted)

ii) Onetime fee for NCB Permanent Full Member shall be rupees -2000/-
The onetime fee for NCB Permanent Associate member shall be rupees-2000/-(rupees 1500/- deleted)

The information of the award (which has been written in the brackets) should be given in the general information about the city branch. The Byelaws should gives rules about eligibility, selection and amount etc.

AWARD BYE LAWS

1.1. ISA DR. ASHOK JADHAV MEMORIAL NATIONAL AWARD

The award is in the memory of Late Dr. Ashok Jadhav, a very successful, ethical, honest, and eminent private practitioner anaesthesiologist of Nagpur by his family and ISA Nagpur City Branch.

The award is for the best three free papers in the private practitioner’s forum of the Annual National Conference of the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists (ISA).

  1. Only life member of ISA are eligible for the Award.
  2. The Award will be given only once in a lifetime to the member.
  3. The evaluation will be objective in nature as far as possible.
    a. Priority will be given in the following order to -randomized trials, retrospective trials, case series, case reports in the above order.
    b. Originality of the report
    c. Novelty of the report, for example, if there is any new message or a new technique or a difficult clinical problem solved using a novel
    technique that can influence the anaesthesiology practice.
    d. Does it lead to any new research ideas?
    e. Quality of presentation, including quality of slides, sticking to time limit, language, conclusions drawn.
    f. Quality of answers given to the judges and audience questions.
  4. The presentation should not violate ethical standards and practice guidelines to the extent possible.
  5. The award would consist of: First prize: Certificate, Medal and cash reward of INR 10,000 only; Second prize: Certificate, Medal and cash reward of INR 5000 only and Third Prize: Certificate, Medal and cash reward of INR 3000 only.

1.2. Dr. R. K. Pradhan Memorial Award.

i) The award shall be granted to the postgraduate student who would score maximum marks, in the first attempt, in the examination(s) of M. D. Anaesthesiology conducted by the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (or the appropriate university conducting the said examination for the medical colleges / institutions mentioned below) in one calendar year.

a) If there are two or more candidates who have obtained same number of marks then the candidate who has appeared in the summer examination will be selected for the award.

b) If there are two or more candidates who have obtained same number of marks in the summer examination then the order of preference for selection shall be i. the candidate who has been awarded Shabde- Tambe travel award, ii. the candidate who has been awarded best paper Rev. Sahay award, iii. the candidate who has scored higher marks in P G entrance examination.

ii) If the winter examination is postponed and conducted in the following year it shall be considered as the examination of the regular year only.

iii) The candidate must be a member of the ISA NCB (usually associate temporary member) to be eligible for this award.

iv) Post graduate students of the following institutions will be eligible for this award.

  1. Government Medical College, Nagpur.
  2. Indira Gandhi Government Medical College, Nagpur.
  3. N.K.P.Salve Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur.

v) The vice president shall be responsible for collecting necessary information and proposing the name of the awardee, which shall be finalized by the executive committee.

vi) The award shall consist of a certificate and a cash prize.

vii) The endowment amount shall be put into separate deposit (FDR) in the national bank and out of the annual interest accrued a sum of rupees 3000 (three thousand only) shall be granted to the awardee. The remaining part of the interest shall be added to the core amount and reinvested. This amount / value of the award shall be reconsidered every three years in compliance with the underlying principle that the core amount of the endowment must increase every year to compensate for inflation (at least partially).

1.3. Shabde-Tambe Memorial Travel Award.

The award shall be granted to the post graduate student whose paper has been accepted to be read at the annual conference of ISA.

  1. If there are two or more P G students whose papers have been accepted to be read at the annual conference of ISA then a sub committee shall be formed which shall conduct interviews to select the most deserving candidate as awardee.
  2. The candidate must be a member of the ISA NCB (usually associate temporary member) to be eligible for this award.
  3. Post graduate students of the following institutions shall be eligible for this award.
  4. Government Medical College, Nagpur
  5. Indira Gandhi Government Medical College, Nagpur.
  6. N.K.P.Salve Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur.
  7. The vice president shall be responsible for collecting necessary information and deciding the name of the awardee, which shall be finalized by the executive committee.
  8. The award shall consist of a certificate and a cash prize.
  9. The endowment amount shall be put into separate deposit (FDR) in the nationalised bank and out of the annual interest accrued a sum of rupees 2400 (twenty four hundred only) shall be granted to the awardee. The remaining part of the interest shall be added to the core amount and reinvested. This amount / value of the award shall be reconsidered every three years in compliance with the underlying principle that the core amount of the endowment must increase every year to compensate for inflation (at least partially).

1.4. Dr. E. G. Tambe Memorial Annual Oration Award.

  1. Every year one renowned anesthesiologist, usually within India, shall be invited to deliver the oration on some topic related to anesthesiology during the Annul Day celebration in the month of January.
  2. The president of ISA NCB shall have the prerogative to propose the name of the awardee which shall be finalized by the executive committee.
  3. The name of the awardee shall be finalized in the month of October so as to have ample time for the speaker to prepare the speech and to arrange travel and accommodation.
    1. The invitation shall be sent in the name of the president on behalf of the Nagpur City Branch of ISA.
    2. The award shall consist of a memento and /or a certificate.
    3. The memento (plaque, salver, shield, cup or other suitable form) shall be presented to the awardee incorporating the name of the award.
    4. The amount of the endowment shall be separately deposited (FDR) in the nationalised bank and out of the interest accrued every year an amount not exceeding rupees 10000 (ten thousand only) shall be spent on travel, accommodation and memento only. The unspent part of this amount along with the remaining amount of the interest shall be merged and deposited with the core amount periodically. The amount of rupees 10000 shall be reconsidered every three year starting from the year 2014.

viii. Dr. V. E. Tambe who has very generously donated the endowment shall never be asked again in future to augment the amount.

ix. If the amount of rupees 10000 is inadequate in particular year the deficit should be made good from general fund of the ISA NCB or by accepting donation from a member or nonmember for this purpose.

  1. If the endowment found to generate inadequate interest in future then increasing the core amount from general fund or donations may be considered, but the name of the award (viz. Tambe) must not be deleted (another name may be added to it).

1.5. Rev. B. N. Sahay Memorial Award

i. The award shall be granted to the postgraduate student whose paper has been judged to be best among all the papers presented (read) in the academic meet in the month of December.

ii. The person who has passed the post graduate exam in the same calendar year shall also be eligible to participate in the paper presentation.

iii. Post graduate students of the following institutions shall be eligible for this award.

  1. Government Medical College, Nagpur.
  2. Indira Gandhi Government Medical College, Nagpur.
  3. N.K.P.Salve Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur.

iv. The vice president shall appoint a panel of judges, to assess the presentation, among the members of ISA NCB, whose decision shall be final.

v. The award shall consist of a cash prize and a certificate. The certificates have already been printed and supplied by Dr. B. M. Sahay and the same shall be given till these last, and when these are not available new certificates shall be printed.

vi. The award shall be presented to the awardee in the Annual Day function.

vii. The endowment amount (rupees twenty thousand in 2010) shall form part of the combined award money fix deposit to be kept in the national bank, and out of the interest accrued every year rupees 1000 (one thousand only) shall be given as the prize money. The rest of the interest shall be deposited back in the core amount. The amount of the prize money shall be reviewed every three years starting from the year 2014 annual day.

1.6. Dr. S. K. Deshpande Award.

i. The award shall be granted to the postgraduate student whose paper has been judged to be second best among all the papers presented (read) in the academic meet in the month of December (same as above award).

ii. The person who has passed the post graduate exam in the same calendar year shall also be eligible to participate in the paper presentation.

iii. Post graduate students of the following institutions shall be eligible for this award.

  1. Government Medical College, Nagpur.
  2. Indira Gandhi Government Medical College, Nagpur.
  3. N. K. P. Salve Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur.
  4. The panel of judges shall be the same as for Rev. B. N. Sahay Memorial Award whose decision shall be final.
  5. The award shall consist of a cash prize and a certificate. The certificates have already been printed and supplied by Dr. S. K. Deshpande and the same shall be given till these last and when these are not available new certificates shall be printed.
  6. The award shall be presented to the awardee in the Annual Day function.
  7. The endowment amount rupees10000 (ten thousand in 2010) shall form part of the combined award money fix deposit to be kept in the national bank and out of the interest accrued every year rupees 500 (five hundred only) shall be given as the prize money. The rest of the interest shall be deposited back in the core amount. The amount of the prize money shall be reviewed every three years starting from the year 2014 annual day.

1.7. Mrs. Kamalabai Deshpande Memorial Life Time Achievement Award

As revised by amendment in the General Body Meeting held on 14 December 2019

Dr. S. K. Deshpande started this award by donating Rs.1000 in the year 2010 and it was kept in combined fund Fixed Deposit and every year allotted fund ( Rs. 500 ) was given in form of shawl, shrifal and citation. In the year 2019 Dr. S. K. Deshpande added Rs.90,000 to the corpus to make it Rs. 1 lakh.

(A) Every year one member of the ISA Nagpur City Branch shall be bestowed upon this Lifetime Achievement Award.

(B) The awardee shall be selected by the panel consisting of President, Secretary, Immediate Past President, Immediate Past Secretary and Special Executive Member.

(C) The criteria for the selection shall be as follows:

(i) Service to ISA Nagpur City Branch as President or Secretary (Mandatory Criteria)

(ii) Contribution to ISA Nagpur City Branch in the development of the Society and Academics

(iii) Seniority (As per age and holder of Office Bearer post)

(iv) If decision has to be taken to choose between Past President and Past Secretary (if the person never became President), preference for that year to be given to the Past President and next year the name of Past Secretary to be considered.

(v) In rare cases, the Seniority of the Office bearer post (President or Secretary) criteria only may be relaxed for the candidate if that person has contributed exceptionally to the cause of ISA Nagpur City Branch but became the Office bearer (President or Secretary) reasonably late.

(vi) From the yearly interest of Fixed Deposit of donated money, 75% of the amount should be used for the purpose of the award and remaining 25% amount should be added to the corpus.

(vii) The Award shall consists of Shawl, Shrifal & Citation

(viii) The Award shall be presented to the awardee on the Annual Day function

(ix) List of eligible candidates in Chronological order for next 20-25 years must be prepared

(x)The awardee shall be informed about his/her selection well in advance of Annual day function

1.8. Prestige Nursing Home Most Active Member Award.

  1. Every year one member of the ISA NCB shall be awarded this award.
  2. The award shall be in the form of a trophy the design of which is specified by Dr. Anil Jain.
  3. The awardee shall be selected by the panel consisting of all the members of the executive committee.
  4. The criteria for the selection shall be i) maximum attendance in the activities of the Nagpur city branch
    ii) participation in anaesthesia awareness programme
    iii) participation in the meetings (other than paper presentation).
  5. The award shall be bestowed upon in the Annual Day function.
  6. The endowment amount rupees 10000 (ten thousand only) shall be part of the combined award money fix deposit to be kept in the national bank and out of the interest accrued every year rupees 300 (three hundred only) shall be spent on the trophy. The rest of the interest shall be deposited back in the core amount. The amount to be spent on the trophy shall be reviewed every three years starting from the year 2014 annual day.

1.11. DR. SRIRAO AWARD

(This was the first award instituted in ISA-NCB. Dr. Srirao wanted to encourage the postgraduates in the field of research as research is the backbone of development of anaesthesiology as a speciality. This award was declared for the postgraduate student of Anaesthesiology of Nagpur University whose paper was adjudged to be the best in the competition organized by ISA-NCB. Initially the prize was awarded till the year 2011. Dr. Srirao renewed this award with a generous donation of Rs. 20,000=00 in the year 2011.)

  1. The award shall be granted to the post-graduate student whose paper has been judged to be best amongst all the papers presented (read) in the academic meet in the month of December.
  2. The person who has passed the post-graduate exam in the same calendar year shall also be eligible to participate in the paper presentation.
  3. The candidate should be from the medical colleges in Nagpur.
  4. The presentation should be a research study.
  5. The Vice-President shall appoint a panel of judges among the members of ISA-NCB whose decision shall be final.
  6. Out of the interest generated by Rs. 20,000/- put in fixed deposit, 60% will be spent on a shield and a certificate to be given to the candidate who wins the award. Rest of the interest shall be deposited back in the core amount. The amount of prize money shall be reviewed every three years starting from the year 2014 annual day.
  7. The award shall be presented to the awardees in the Annual Day function.

1.12. “DR. N. T. BALANKHE MEMORIAL OUTGOING PRESIDENT’S ORATION”

This Oration started by Dr. Nikhil. N. Balankhe in the memory of his beloved father, renowned Anaesthesiologist & Ex-President of ISA NCB ,Dr. N. T. Balankhe in the year 2013 with the generous donation of Rs.1,00,000=00 ( one lac only)

  1. Every year outgoing President of ISA NCB deliver Oration on some topic related to Anaesthesiology following the Installation of new team in the month of April.
  2. The award shall be consisting of Citation & Certificate.
  3. The Citation shall be presented to the awardees incorporating the name of the award.
  4. The amount Rs.1, 00,000=00 (rupees one lac) shall be separately deposited (FDR) in nationalised bank and out of interest generated Rs. 5000=00(rupees five thousand only) shall be spent on Citation and remaining amount shall be merged and deposited with core amount periodically.

1.13. Late Dr. R. K. Pradhan Memorial Oration Sponsored by the Nagpur City Branch of ISA

This oration was established by the members of ISA-NCB in memory of the late Dr. R.K. Pradhan, who was a former Professor and Head of the Department of Anesthesiology at GMC, Nagpur. Dr. Pradhan was the founding president of the ISA Nagpur City Branch and the only National President from this region. The oration was initiated with a contribution of Rs. 1.5 lakh to MSCISA by the ISA Nagpur City Branch.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. The speaker should be a well-known authority on the topic of the oration.
  2. The speaker should be capable of effectively achieving the aims and objectives of the oration.
  3. The speaker should be an experienced orator with a strong background in public speaking.

1.13. “MRS. VAISHALI MALEGAONKAR MEMORIAL CASE PRESENTATION COMPETITION AWARD”

(This was the award declared by Dr. Charuta Gadkari in the memory of her beloved sister Mrs. Vaishali Malegaonkar, who was US based engineer and lost battle of life fighting of CA Breast in order to encourage the Anaesthesiologist who are the real sailors of life peri-operatively.

Dr. Charuta Gadkari started this award with the generous donation of Rs.1, 00,000=00 (rupees one lac) in 2014.)

  1. The award shall be granted to the Anaesthesiologists who stand in 1st & 2nd position in Best Case Presentation Competition.
  2. Only ISA NCB members would be eligible for the awards.
  3. The donation Amount Rs.1,00,000=00 should be kept as fixed deposit as per rules & regulation of ISA NCB
  4. From the yearly interest, Rs.5000=00 (rupees five thousand only) should be used for the purpose of awards and remaining amount should be added to the corpus.
  5. Two Awards should be given as follows:1st position-Rs,3000=00 (rupees three thousand only) & 2nd position-Rs.2000=00 (rupees two thousand only)
  6. The Awards should be in the form of decent memento & certificates specially prepared for this purpose.
  7. The Award shall be presented to the awardees on the Annual Day Function.
  8. If the amount of interest falls short of rupees 7000=00 then 60% of the interest will be awarded to the first position and 40% of the interest will be awarded to the second position awardee.

1.14. “SHRIMATI SUSHILA SATHE MEMORIAL AWARD”

(This award started by Dr. Rashmi Deshpande in the memory of her beloved mother in the year 2014 with the generous donation of Rs.1,00,000/-(rupees one lac only) in order to promote & encourage Academics, Research work in the field of Anaesthesiology at International/National/State level amongst ISA NCB members.)

  1. Person should be ISA NCB member
  2. Invited as Faculty to conference/workshop or CME at International/National /State level (in that order)
  3. Faculty for Anaesthesiology/Critical Care/Pain in that order of preference
  4. If nobody fulfilled the above criteria then the 1st author of publication in an indexed journal will be considered.
  5. Senior person shall be given preference if two or more persons are eligible.
  6. Same person should not be given award unless no one else qualified
  7. If no one is qualified for the award, then amount should be added to the corpus.
  8. The award would constitute SILVER article costing not exceeding Rs.5000/-(Rupees five thousand only)
  9. The Award to be given on Annual day starting from 2014 and reviewed every three years.

1.15. “DR. MALATI PHADKE INTERCOLLEGIATE ANAESTHESIOLOGY POST GRADUATE QUIZ COMPETITION AWARD”

(Dr. Miss Malti Phadke, retired Professor and Head, Dept of Anaesthesiology, GMC Nagpur was generous in donating a sum of Rs. !,00,000/- to ISA-NCB in the year 2013. Dr. Phadke, teacher to the core, first introduced an intercollegiate quiz in the year 1997as a different teaching-learning method, encouraging the students to read widely and in-depth. This sum shall be used to conduct an intercollegiate quiz for the post-graduate students of Anaesthesiology. This shall be an annual event. The amount of Rs. One lakh shall be kept in a fixed deposit and the interest generated should be used to meet the expenses incurred in organisation of the quiz).

(This Award is started by Dr. Malati Phadke in the year 2013 with the generous donation of Rs.1,00,000=00 (rupees one lac only) for the winners and runner up of Intercollegiate Anaesthesiology postgraduate quiz competition.)

  1. Post Graduates students of Anaesthesiology from all medical colleges in Vidarbha are eligible to participate recommended by their respective Head of Departments.
  2. Head of the Departments should be informed one month prior to date of competition.
  3. Award shall be granted to quiz winner & runner up as 1st and 2nd
  4. Donation amount Rs.1, 00,000/- (rupees one lac only) should be kept as fixed deposit as per rules and regulation of ISA NCB.
  5. From the yearly interest Rs.5000=00 (rupees five thousand only) shall be used for the purpose of awards and remaining amount should be added to the corpus.
  6. Two Awards should be given as follows:1st position- Rs. 3000=00 (rupees three thousand only) & 2nd position- Rs.2000=00 (rupees two thousand only)
  7. The Awards shall be in the form of Shield or Trophy and certificates specially prepared for this purpose.

1.16. “Dr. Krishna Kale Best Poster Presentation Award”

Dr. Mrs. Krishna Satish Kale , retired Professor and Head, Department of Anaesthesiology, GMC Nagpur was generous in donating a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- to ISA-NCB in the year 2017.ISA NCB started Best poster presentation competition Award in her name for ISA NCB members in order to give best platform to present their clinical work.. This shall be an annual event. The amount of Rs. One lakh shall be kept in a fixed deposit and the interest generated should be used to meet the expenses incurred for event & trophies.

  1. The award shall be granted to the Anaesthesiologists who stand in 1st & 2nd position in Best Poster Presentation Competition.
  2. Only ISA NCB members would be eligible for the awards.
  3. The donation Amount Rs.1,00,000=00 should be kept as fixed deposit as per rules & regulation of ISA NCB

1.17. MRS. SINDHU INGLE AWARD FOR BEST PUBLIC AWARENESS

Mrs. Sindhu Ingle award for Best Public Awareness was started by Dr. Anjali Bhure, National Governing Council member and Past President of ISA-NCB in the name of her mother by donating Rs.1,00,000 in the year 2017. The purpose of the award was to encourage and appreciate the member who has contributed in creating Public awareness about Anaesthesia speciality and Life-saving services.

Eligibility criteria:

  1. Every year one member who is not a part of executive body of current year shall be selected for the award.
  2. The award shall be in the form of a trophy specified by Dr. Anjali Bhure.
  3. The awardee shall be selected by a panel comprising of the Executive committee members.
  4. Selection criteria:
    1. Person should be an ISA-NCB member (Outside the executive body of that year)
    2. Maximum number of CPCR activities
    3. Anaesthesia awareness activity in the form of paper write ups, exhibitions
    4. Television or radio programmes
  5. Award shall be given on Annual day.

The amount donated 1 lac should be converted to a Fixed deposit in the bank and the 75% interest amount should be used for the prize money& 25% return to corpus. There shall be one prize.

1.18 “Shri Gopalrao and Shrimati Chhayatai Patil Memorial Award”

(This award is started by Dr. (Mrs) Ratna Waghaye (retired Professor of Anesthesiology, GMC, Nagpur) in the memory of her beloved parents – Shri. Gopalrao and Shrimati Chhayatai Patil to promote female education and encourage Girls. Dr (Mrs) Ratna Waghaye started this award with the generous donation of Rs 1,00,000=00 (Rupees One Lakh) in 2019.)

  1. The Award shall be granted to the FEMALE topper from Nagpur region in M.D. Anesthesiology examination of the year conducted by Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS).
  2. Nagpur region constitutes the medical colleges in and around the Nagpur and affiliated to MUHS. (DEEMED university students should not be considered.)
  3. From the yearly interest of Fixed Deposit of donated money, 75% of the amount should be used for the purpose of the award and remaining 25% amount should be added to the corpus.
  4. The Award shall consist of an AIRWAY GADGET (VideoLaryngosope – TAScope) and a Certificate specially prepared for the purpose. (Certificate shall carry the photograph given by Dr (Mrs) Ratna Waghaye)
  5. The Award shall be presented to the awardee on the Annual Day function
  6. The awardee must be ISA Nagpur City Branch (associate) member

1.19 Cham’s ISA Nagpur City Branch Outstanding Anaesthesiologist Award (Started from 2023)

This award has been started by Dr. Chandrashekharan Cham to acknowledge, and as a token of appreciation to the member who has worked for the organization and has given significant contribution for the betterment of ISA Nagpur city branch. It is also to be mentioned that the previously given award namely ‘Dr. Lalla Cham award’, also started by Dr. Chandrashekhar Cham in the name of his father has been stopped because of the discontinuation of D.A. course as this award was being given to the ‘Diploma in anesthesiology examination topper’. The decision of starting this new award was approved in the GBM held on 21-07-2022. An additional contribution to the previous award amount was given by Dr. Cham to make a total sum of rupees 100000/- for starting this new award.

Eligibility criteria:

  1. Should be ISA member (May or may not be a ex-officio of ISA NCB).
  2. LIfetime achievement awardees of ISA NCB are also eligible for this award.
  3. Can be awarded to more than one anaesthesiologist.
  4. Age more than 50
  5. Directly or indirectly contributed for upliftment of Anesthesiology.
  6. Should be decided by committee of Immediate Past President, President & Special executive member.
  7. Should not be decided on the basis of seniority only.
  8. No need to call the award sponsorer on the stage during Award ceremony.
  9. Sponsorer should be informed about awardee and his name should be mentioned while declaring the award and awardee.
  10. Award includes citation and cash of about ₹5000/- generated from the interest of the sponsored amount.

If above mentioned criteria are incomprehensible, please be free to contact the sponsorer.

Please note that until the interest accrued from the corpus amount does not sum up to the award amount of ₹5000/-, the deficit shall be paid by the sponsorer/ benefactor.

1.20 Prof. D.S. Motghare award for intercollegiate anesthesia skit competition for Vidarbha colleges:

This award has been started by Dr. Sandhya Manjrekar, Ex-Prof. and HOD of Anesthesiology, IGGMC, in the name of her beloved father by donating a sum of rupees 150000/- in the year 2021. The purpose of this award is to create awareness about anesthesia in a creative way.

Criteria of the award:

  1. The students and teachers of anesthesia department of all the colleges of Vidarbha region can participate, but the participants should be ISA NCB members.
  2. The skit competition is to be held during the Ether day program.
  3. The skits should be on academic topic.
  4. From the interest of the FD of award money, prizes shall be given to the winner and runner team. Prizes shall be in the form of trophy.
  5. Participation certificate is to be given to all the participants.
  6. The certificate shall carry the photograph given by Dr. Sandhya Manjrekar.
  7. The prizes are to be given away after the competition and declaration of results during the ether day celebration program.

1.21 Annual Debate Competition

This award has been started by Ex-Prof. and HOD of anesthesiology Dr. Hema Mankeshwar who is also the founder member of ISA Nagpur city branch. She has started this award in 2023 by contributing a sum of rupees 100000/- to ISA Nagpur city branch, mainly to encourage the members to participate in academics through debates, which is an interesting method of learning and updating of knowledge.

Eligibility criteria:

  1. The participant should be a practicing anesthesiologist and member of ISA NCB.
  2. The debate is to be held annually at any convenient time but the award shall be given during the annual day celebration.
  3. It should be an academic and interesting topic.
  4. There shall be two awards to be given to the winner and runner up speaking either ‘for’ or ‘against’ the motion.
  5. The prize shall be given from the interest accrued from the FD of principle amount and shall comprise of a memento and a certificate. 75% of the interest amount can be spent for the prizes and the rest of the 25% of interest amount is to be added to the corpus.

1.22 Dr. B. M. Rajurkar Sponsored ISA-NCB Private Practitioners’ Forum Annual Award

Guidelines for Conducting the Activity
Proposed at the annual GBM of ISA-NCB on 23rd July 2024:

The award was established by Dr. B. M. Rajurkar, a senior member and past president of ISA-NCB, with a contribution of Rs. 1.5 lakh. This initiative aims to encourage freelance anesthesiologists in private practice.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. The award is an annual event featuring a 20-minute talk by an eligible freelance anesthesia practitioner, followed by a 10-minute discussion.
  2. The speaker must have been a life member of ISA-NCB for at least five years.
  3. The speaker must be a freelance anesthesia practitioner with at least five years of experience in private practice. Those affiliated with corporate, institutional, or medical college anesthesia departments are not eligible.
  4. The speaker will be selected by the President and immediate past President of ISA-NCB, in consultation with the sponsor, and approved by the executive committee. A member can be chosen only once, and current executive body members are not eligible. Seniority is not a selection criterion.
  5. The presentation can be an oral presentation, a “How I Do It” session, or a case series, based on the speaker’s preference. Two senior freelance anesthesia practitioners, each with at least five years of private practice experience, will chair the session.
  6. The speaker will receive a cash prize of Rs. 7,000 and a certificate.
  7. The event will be held annually, preferably in March, alongside the ISA-NCB annual debate competition.
  8. Dr. B. M. Rajurkar will be invited to the event. The sponsor’s name will be acknowledged when presenting the speaker, but the sponsor is not required to be on stage.

Combined Award fund..

The endowment amount for the last 6 (six) awards shall be grouped together for easy management and shall be put in a fix deposit (FDR) in a national bank. The amount the interest shall be utilised as detailed above. The unspent amount of the interest shall be added to the core amount periodically. The amount to be utilised for awards shall be reviewed every three years starting from the year 2014.

10. The executive committee shall accept the offers for increasing/augmenting the amount of existing endowments. There shall be no restriction about minimum or maximum donation. The existing name of the award shall never be deleted and new name shall never replace the existing name. However, name(s) may be added to existing name(s) if approved by executive committee. The executive committee shall submit its recommendations to the General Body whose decision shall be final.

  1. The executive committee shall accept the offers of endowments for starting new awards. The minimum offer of the donation shall be rupees 50,000 (fifty thousand only) or more depending upon the nature and details of the award. The executive committee shall submit its recommendation to the General Body whose decision shall be final.

AMENDMENTS IN CONSTITUTION OF ISA NCB UP TO 2022

  1. As per the article 3A i of the constitution of ISA NCB, the tenure of the executive team was from 1 st April to 31 st March but as per the new National guidelines the tenure will be from 16th October of the current year to 15th October of the next year so as to bring the uniformity across all the branches at the National level.
    The amendment in this article is henceforth, the tenure of the new team shall be from 16th October of current year to 15th October of the next year.
  2. As per article 2A in the constitution, there were two GBM in a year in the month of April and other in the month of December.
    The amendment in this article is that henceforth there, will be only one GBM to be held in the month of July .The audited accounts prepared by the honorary treasurer shall be presented in this GBM. The Election process with the declaration of the new team shall also be done in this GBM
  3. As per the minutes in the GBM on 24th July 2021 the minimum required attendance by any ISANCB office bearer that was agreed and approved was two out of three GBM from the Joint Secretary onwards.
    The amendment regarding the mandatory attendance for the Joint secretary and higher post in the executive committee for the General body meeting henceforth , shall be two out of three GBM and for the executive members it will be at least one GBM out of three.
  4. As per the article 3A viii of the constitution if an executive member remains absent for the three consecutive meetings without prior intimation & without valid reason then he/she will be disqualified for the post.
    The amendment in this article is that henceforth, he or she should not be allowed to take up the official post later. Moreover he or she shall not be eligible for any awards in the different competitions conducted by the society for next consecutive 5 years.
  5. As per general Bye laws 10 the Annual day is to be celebrated on 1st or 2nd Saturday of January
    Due to the new National guidelines and the tenure change the amendment in this article is that henceforth, Annual day is to be shifted from the month of January to month of May and late Dr E.G. Tambe oration will also take place in June.
    Henceforth, the Foundation day will be held separately in the month of January.
  6. As per the article 3J the constitution the eligibility for the Post of the special executive Past Presidents/ past secretary/Vice president.
    The suggested amendment in this article is that only past president can become the Special executives as a senior person is needed for the post.
