Best Paper Presentation 2017

ISA NCB organised the ‘Best paper presentation’ competition for the post-graduate students in Anesthesiology on 18th November 2017 at 6.30pm at M.T. Paithankar hall, IMA House. Dr. Shrirao Award will be presented to winner of ‘First Best paper’. Rev. B. N. Sahay Memorial award will also be presented to winner of ‘ First Best Paper’ and Dr. S. K. Deshpande award will be presented to winner of ‘Second best paper’.

For the first time ISA NCB conducted ‘Best poster presentation’ competition for the ISA NCB members and shall be given two prizes – Dr. Krishna Kale award. The competition was held at the same venue, date and time.

The programme started with Samai lighting followed by welcome speech by ISA NCB president Dr. Sheetal Dalal.

There were seven presenters in paper presentation competition which was judged by Dr. Rashmi Deshpande, Prof .and H.O.D. of Anesthesiology Dept., J.N.M.C., Sawangi, and Dr. Pratibha Deshmukh, past-president of ISA NCB.

The first prize was won by Dr. Piyush Dhawad from IGGMCH, Second prize was won jointly by Dr. Prashant Tonge from IGGMCH and Dr. Apeksha Kachchara from NKPSIMS.

In poster presentation category, there were 5 entries, which was judged by Dr. Ranjana deshmukh, Ex-Prof and H.O. D. of anesthesiology G.M.C., Nagpur and Dr. Narendra Tamhane, Past-President of ISA NCB.

The First prize was won by Dr. Deepak Madankar, consultant anesthesiologist at Meditrina hospital, who presented ‘Perioperative Anesthetic Management of Placenta Percreta for Cesarean Surgery’ and second prize was won by Dr. Deepali Mandlik, consultant anesthesiologist at Orange city hospital, who presented a case report ‘Club foot osteotomy done under combined spinal epidural in a case of severe scoliosis’.

The interviews for Shabde Tambe travelling fellowship was also held on the same evening. Those postgraduate students who are presenting papers at ISA National conference 2017 was considered for the same.

The Shabde Tambe travelling fellowship interview was conducted by Dr. H. Mankeshwar, Ex-prof. and H.O.D. of Anesthesiology , G.M.C., and Dr. Vilas Tambe, one of the pioneers in setting up Intensive care unit in Nagpur.

The winner was Dr. Jyoti R. Bajaj, from I.G.G.M.C. Nagpur.

The programme was conducted by Dr. Priya Sadavarte. The programme was co-ordinated by Dr. Vrishali Ankalwar, Dr. Soma Cham and Dr. Sunita Lawange. Dr. Gauri Arora, Hon. Secretary of ISA NCB proposed vote of thanks. The event was attended by around 80 members.
