Ether Week Celebrations
Indian Society of Anaesthesiologist Nagpur City Branch observed “ETHER WEEK” from 12th oct to 18th oct 2015. During this week various academic and nonacademic events were planned across the city by ISA NCB.
To create awareness about anaesthesia in common people exhibition depicting importance of Anaesthesia was displayed at Indira Gandhi Government medical college and Hospital.
Demonstration of Basic Life Support in emergency situations like near drowning, fire, accidents or medical emergencies was conducted to life guards, bus conductor, drivers and general public, at various swimming pools, schools, colleges and bus stations. Misconceptions in dealing with such situations were dealt with hands on practical demos on mannequin with do’s and dont’s interactive sessions. Demonstration of advanced life support was conducted for paramedical staff and resident doctors at Getwell, Wockhardts and Suretech hospitals.
On the weekend a Mega Academic event was organized in association with Academy of Regional Anaesthesia (AORA). A Live Workshop and CME on Regional Anesthesia were conducted on 17th and 18th oct. at Getwell Hospital and Hotel Centre Point.
Renowned national faculties Dr. Sandeep Diwan, Dr. Bharti Aadhye from Pune, Dr. Vrushali Ponde from Mumbai, Dr. Ramkumar from Bangalore and Dr. Cham, Dr. Bhau Rajurkar from Nagpur deliberated on various topics. The event offered live demonstration of various regional blocks from operaton theatre and interactive question answers with the faculties. Dr. Kiran Vyawhare and Dr. Sheetal Dalal conducted hall proceedings while OT was coordinated by Dr. Rashmi Shingade and Dr. Archana Munishwar.
CME content included all aspects of regional blocks ranging from a day old neonate to elderly patients. The academic event was attended by over 220 delegates from across vidarbha region and was highly appreciated by all. MMC had granted 3 credit hours for the event.
World Anaesthesia Day was celebrated on Friday 16th oct in presence of founder members of Nagpur Anaesthesia Society respected Dr Mrs. H. J. Mankeshwar Dr. Ghosh and Dr. Subhash Shrirao. Dr. Ghosh in his address to all the members stressed on importance of ethical practice in anaesthesia.
On this occasion Young Achievers were felicitated at the hands of Dr. Ghosh. This was followed by a melodious Musical Event at IMA auditorium. Many ISA NCB members showcased their talent in this event.
Organising committee Chairman Dr. Bhau Rajurkar, members Dr. Cham, Dr. Rahatekar, Dr. Kiran Vyawhare, Dr. Roy, Dr. Soma Cham, Dr. Devyani Thakur, Dr. Archana Munishwar, Dr Amrusha Chowkshe, Dr. Ramtani and others worked hard for the success of “Ether Week Celebrations”.
