ISA Nagpur Hosts Advanced USG Guided Cadaveric Regional Anesthesia Workshop 2025

The Department of Anesthesia, DMMC Nagpur, in association with ISA Nagpur City Branch and CRAB, successfully conducted a two-day USG-guided cadaveric regional anesthesia workshop on 5–6 July 2025.

The Department of Anesthesia, SEL & SC DMMC Nagpur, in association with the ISA Nagpur City Branch and the Cadaveric Research Academic Board (CRAB), successfully organized “The Plexus and Planes on Cadavers with Needle & USG 2.0” on 5th and 6th July 2025.

This two-day USG-guided hands-on Cadaveric Regional Anesthesia Workshop was designed to enhance precision, anatomical understanding, and practical competency in ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia techniques. The workshop brought together distinguished faculty, academic leaders, and anesthesia professionals committed to advancing safe and evidence-based perioperative care.

About the Workshop

Regional anesthesia has evolved significantly with the integration of ultrasound guidance. However, mastery requires deep anatomical knowledge combined with practical needle handling skills. This workshop was conceptualized to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and real-time procedural execution.

Through structured cadaveric demonstrations and supervised hands-on sessions, participants refined their understanding of:

  • Brachial plexus blocks
  • Truncal plane blocks
  • Peripheral nerve localization
  • Needle visualization under ultrasound guidance
  • Safe and effective block techniques

Cadaver-based learning allowed delegates to correlate sonoanatomy with actual anatomical structures—an essential step in minimizing complications and improving patient outcomes.
