Public Awareness Activities: COLS and BCLS Training Initiatives

ISA-NCB conducted multiple COLS and BCLS training programs in December 2025, spreading awareness and teaching life-saving emergency response skills to medical professionals and the public.

As part of its ongoing public awareness and community outreach initiatives, the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists – Nagpur City Branch (ISA-NCB) conducted several Compression-Only Life Support (COLS) and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) training programs in December 2025.

In total, the branch successfully organized 10 activities, including 6 COLS sessions and 4 BCLS training programs, aimed at educating both healthcare professionals and members of the community about essential life-saving techniques.

These initiatives were designed to improve emergency response awareness, promote early intervention during cardiac arrest, and empower individuals with the skills required to perform basic life support.

Compression Only Life Support (COLS)

Umred – 13 December 2025
A COLS training session was conducted in Umred by Dr. Kalyani Surkar Roy during a 1993 Alumni function. The session focused on spreading awareness about the importance of immediate chest compressions during cardiac emergencies, helping participants understand simple yet critical life-saving steps that can be performed before professional medical help arrives.

Through such initiatives, ISA-NCB continues its mission of promoting emergency preparedness and saving lives through public education and training.
