ISA Nagpur Conducts BCLS and COLS Community Training at Burhani Masjid, Nagpur

ISA Nagpur organized BCLS and COLS training at Burhani Masjid, Nagpur, educating healthcare professionals and community members on essential life-saving techniques and emergency response skills.

Community Outreach and Life Support Training

As part of its commitment to public health awareness and emergency preparedness, the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists (ISA), Nagpur City Branch (NCB) organized a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Compression Only Life Support (COLS) training session at Burhani Masjid, Nagpur, on February 15, 2026.

The initiative aimed to empower both healthcare professionals and members of the community with life-saving knowledge and practical emergency response skills that can be crucial during cardiac emergencies.


Training for Medical Professionals

A dedicated Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) session was conducted for healthcare professionals.

Participants Included

  • Resident doctors
  • Medical practitioners
  • Healthcare staff

Approximately 40 medical professionals participated in the training. The session focused on strengthening clinical response during cardiac arrest and ensuring participants were confident in applying BCLS protocols effectively.


COLS Training for the Community

Alongside the BCLS program, a Compression Only Life Support (COLS) session was organized for non-medical participants, ensuring that members of the community also gained essential emergency response knowledge.

Participants were trained in:

  • Recognizing cardiac arrest situations
  • Performing chest compressions correctly
  • Acting quickly before professional medical help arrives

This initiative highlighted ISA Nagpur’s focus on community empowerment and public safety.
