The Department of Anaesthesia, IGGMC Nagpur, in collaboration with the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists – Nagpur City Branch (ISA-NCB), organized a First Aid and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) training program for students of the Institute of Fire and Safety Engineering, Pardi, Katol Road, Nagpur.
The training session was conducted on 12 October 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, aiming to equip students with essential emergency response and life-saving skills.
The program began with a First Aid lecture delivered by Dr. Leena Ingale Gedam, Associate Professor and Hon. Treasurer, ISA-NCB (2025–26). The lecture focused on basic first aid principles, recognizing emergencies, and providing immediate assistance before professional medical help arrives.
Following the lecture, Dr. Nikhil Vengrulekar and Dr. Kapil Chavhan conducted demonstrations and hands-on BCLS training sessions. Students were trained using mannequins, allowing them to practice CPR techniques and emergency response procedures in a practical learning environment.
The training program was attended by approximately 52 students along with a few staff members. Participants actively engaged in scenario-based practice sessions, enthusiastically performing CPR and emergency response drills on the training mannequins.
The workshop successfully enhanced awareness, practical skills, and confidence among the students, preparing them to respond effectively during emergency situations in their professional field.
