ISA NCB celebrated its Foundation Day on 25th January 2026 by organizing an Anaesthesia Awareness Walkathon aimed at strengthening the connection between anaesthesiologists and the general public.
The 3 km walkathon, held under the theme “Anaesthesia Awareness,” encouraged participants to spread awareness about the vital role of anaesthesiologists in patient care. Members carried placards with the message “Know Your Anaesthesiologist,” highlighting the importance of recognizing their contributions in healthcare.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 100 members and their families, making it a lively and engaging morning at Traffic Park. Participants also enjoyed Zumba sessions, fitness activities, and fun games, creating a healthy and energetic atmosphere.
As part of the community outreach initiative, Dr. Sachin Makade, Dr. Ravi Mundada, and Dr. Pooja Kanthawar conducted a live demonstration of Compression-Only Life Support (COLS) for members of the public present at the park. This activity helped educate laypersons on how to respond effectively during cardiac emergencies.
During the celebration, the branch also felicitated two distinguished personalities for their remarkable achievements and contributions:
- Dr. Sunita Dhote, a renowned cyclist and the first “Ironwoman” of Vidarbha, recognized for her exceptional endurance and inspiration to the community.
- Dr. Rajendra Rai, a Consultant Anaesthesiologist, poet, and passionate cyclist, honored for his multifaceted accomplishments.
The event successfully combined awareness, fitness, and community engagement, reflecting ISA NCB’s commitment to promoting both professional recognition and public education.
