As part of the World Anaesthesia Day (WAD) celebrations on 16 October 2025, Dr. Kirti Gujarkar recorded an educational awareness video highlighting the role of anaesthesiologists in the care and management of obstetric patients.
The video explains the critical contribution of anaesthesiologists in ensuring safe maternal and neonatal outcomes, particularly during labour, caesarean sections, and high-risk obstetric procedures. It also emphasizes their role in pain management, monitoring vital parameters, and handling emergency situations during childbirth.
Through this initiative, the objective was to increase public awareness about the importance of anaesthesia services in maternal healthcare and to recognize the vital role played by anaesthesiologists in safeguarding the lives of both mother and baby.
This video, along with another awareness video created by Dr. Shweta Bulle, was officially released on 16 October 2025 during the World Anaesthesia Day celebration organized by ISA–NCB.
