Anaesthesia Week Celebration – BLS & COLS Training at DMMC, Nagpur

As part of Anaesthesia Week celebrations on 14th October 2025,
Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists – Nagpur City Branch (ISA–NCB), in association with the Department of Anaesthesiology and School of Virtual Learning,
Datta Meghe Medical College (DMMC), conducted a Basic Life Support (BLS) and hands-on training session at DMMC, Nagpur.

Academic Session

  • Dr. Anjali Modak Borkar, Professor & Head, delivered a lecture on COLS in hospital and out-of-hospital situations.
  • The session focused on early recognition and timely chest compression techniques.

Demonstration & Hands-on Training

  • Dr. Roshani Manwani, Executive Committee Member, demonstrated correct compression techniques.
  • Dr. Shivani Wargantiwar and Dr. Pankaj (ISA–NCB Members) conducted demonstrations and supervised hands-on practice sessions.

Participation & Impact

  • 167 first-year medical students actively practiced chest compressions.
  • The session enhanced practical skills, confidence, and emergency preparedness among budding doctors.

This initiative reinforced ISA–NCB’s commitment to spreading life-saving skills and strengthening emergency response training among medical students during Anaesthesia Week celebrations.
