International Youth Day Initiative by ISA–NCB
On the occasion of International Youth Day, 12th August 2025, the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists – Nagpur City Branch (ISA–NCB) conducted a COLS (Cardiac and Obstetric Life Support) Training Programme for paramedical technology students and undergraduate youth of GMC Nagpur.
The activity was organized at Oval Garden, GMC Nagpur, creating an open and engaging learning environment that encouraged active participation and enthusiasm among students.
Empowering Young Healthcare Professionals with Life-Saving Skills
Recognizing the critical role of early resuscitation and emergency response training, ISA–NCB designed this session to equip young healthcare aspirants with practical knowledge and confidence in managing life-threatening emergencies.
A total of 40 BPMT (Bachelor of Paramedical Technology) students and undergraduate students participated in the training programme.

Their sessions covered essential principles of basic life support, structured emergency response, airway management basics, and the importance of early intervention in cardiac and obstetric emergencies.
The speakers emphasized the role of trained paramedical staff and young medical students as first responders in hospital and community settings.
Hands-On Mannequin Training
Practical training formed the core of the programme.
The hands-on session was conducted by:
- Dr Kanhaiya, Postgraduate Student, Anaesthesiology, GMC Nagpur
- Dr Anurag, Postgraduate Student, Anaesthesiology, GMC Nagpur
Participants were given structured training on mannequins, enabling them to practice:
- Chest compression techniques
- Airway positioning
- Team-based resuscitation approach
- Coordination during emergency scenarios
The interactive format ensured that every participant gained practical exposure and confidence in performing life-saving interventions.
