Mastering the Challenge: ISA Nagpur’s APT Series Tackles Difficult Airway Management
ISA Nagpur's successful APT (Academic Practical Training) Series continued its mission to equip young doctors with critical skills. The fourth session, held on May 9, 2025, focused on Difficult Airway Management, featuring a high-stakes case discussion and a review of Advanced Airway Guidelines. Top educators, including Dr. Amla Kudalkar (Mumbai) and Dr. Soma Cham (Nagpur), guided 65 postgraduate residents through this crucial topic.
Recognizing the need for continuous, practical education in anaesthesiology, the ISA Nagpur City Branch (ISA-NCB) successfully hosted the fourth activity of its esteemed APT (Academic Practical Training) Series.
The session, focused on the critically important topic of Difficult Airway Management, was held online via Zoom on Wednesday, May 9, 2025, from 6:30 PM to 8:15 PM.
Advanced Guidelines and Case Discussion
The webinar was structured to provide both theoretical and practical insights, including a deep dive into the Advanced Airway Guidelines and a real-world Case Discussion. This combined approach ensures that residents are prepared for the most challenging scenarios they will face in the operating room.
The session was steered by two distinguished teachers:
- Dr. Amla Kudalkar: Professor & Head, Department of Anaesthesia, Seth GS Medical College & KEM Hospital, Mumbai.
- Dr. Soma Cham: Associate Professor, Department of Anaesthesia, Trauma Care Centre, Nagpur.
The core learning material was presented by the next generation of specialists: Dr. Shristi Menon and Dr. Mustafeez Absar, both 3rd-year residents from GMC Nagpur, whose presentations fueled the insightful discussion.
A motivated group of 65 participants (postgraduate students and residents) attended and benefited immensely from the focused training.
The event was smoothly coordinated by Dr. Ketaki Ramteke (Assistant Professor, Superspeciality Hospital, GMC Nagpur), who served as the MOC (Master of Ceremony) and Coordinator, ensuring the academic standards were maintained throughout the session.
ISA-NCB is proud to provide this platform for continuous learning, reinforcing the foundation of safe anaesthesia practice among its younger members.
