CME on CHALLENGES IN ICU : EXPANDING HORIZONS

On 2nd September 2018, the auspicious occasion of Janamashtami, Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists Nagpur City Branch and Dept. of Anaesthesiology, IGGMC Nagpur organised CME on CHALLENGES IN ICU: EXPANDING HORIZONS at Surgical Complex IGGMC Nagpur.

The eminent faculties Dr. Vijaya Patil, professor, Anaesthesiology, Tata memorial hospital, Mumbai, Dr. S.k. Deshpande, senior cardiac Anaesthesiologist of Nagpur, Dr. Nikhil Balankhe, renowned intensivist of town, Dr. Pradeep Dcosta, Dr. Anand Tiwari, intensivists from Pune and Dr. V. C. Shelgaonkar, Prof. Anaesthesiology IGGMC, enlightened the delegates on various aspects of critical care.

Along with these faculties our workshop faculties were Dr. Saurab Barde, Dr. Fating, Dr. Sonali khobragade, Dr. Badwaik, Dr. Vikas Chaudhari, Dr. Dipak Madankar, Dr. Ritesh Borkar, Dr. Dilip Wasnik who conducted workshops with hands on given on mannequins.

The Chairpersons for various sessions were Dr. Sangawar, Dr. Pratibha Deshmukh, Dr. Vidula kapre, Dr. Pradeep Dhumane, Dr. Jayesh Timane and Dr. Anantsingh Rajput.

Respected Dean , IGGMC Dr Ajay Keoliya accepted to be chief guest of Ceremony and Dr. S. P. Manjrekar , Medical Superintendent, Prof. & Head, Anaesthesiology, IGGMC was patron of CME.

The CME started with welcome speech by Dr. Sunita Lawange , president ISA NCB and organising chairman of CME who mentioned about superb calender of events of ISA NCB along with academic and non academic fun filled activities conducted in last month.She congratulated and thanked all for grand success of WALKATHON of last Sunday. She encouraged all ISA members to register for Family Benevolent fund scheme of ISA Natnl.

In her address, Dr. Shelgaonkar, prof. Anaesthesiology, IGGMC and organising chairman of CME highlighted the purpose behind conducting this CME along with workshop which is the need of an hour. She compared the role of anaesthesiologist in Critical care and operation theatre with chariot of Lord Krishna , it’s 4 horses as vital organs of human body and 4 reigns as skills and gadgets.

Dr. Alok Ghosh ,senior teacher and father figure for IGGMC and ISA NCB graced the occasion and released 2nd issue of e-sense which comprises of three articles on organ donation and organ retrieval by Dr. N. G. Tirpude , professor , Anaesthesiology, GMC Nagpur , Dr. Smita Harkare and Dr. Dipak Madankar clinical secretary ISA NCB.

Dr. Manjrekar guided us with words of wisdom. Dr. Keoliya , Dean in his address congratulated and appreciated Dept of Anaesthesiology IGGMC and ISA NCB for the efforts taken for arranging this CME.
Entire team of ISA and dept worked hard for grand success of mega event.

MMC observer for CME was Dr. Shital Dalal, Associate professor, Anaesthesiology, IGGMC . The 180 delegates from all over Vidarbha enjoyed the academic feast and hands-on training of three workstations on basic and advanced ventilator therapy, basic and advanced USG in critical care, invasive and noninvasive hemodynamic monitoring. MMC granted 2 credit points The masters of ceremony were Dr. Devyani Thakur and Dr. Leena Ingale . Dr. Umesh Ramtani , organising secretary of CME , Hon. Secretary, ISA NCB, proposed vote of thanks.
