As part of its Public Awareness and Social Outreach initiatives, the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists – Nagpur City Branch (ISA–NCB) conducted a Compression-Only Life Support (COLS) training activity for Junior Engineers of the Irrigation Department, Nagpur.
The session was attended by approximately 55 junior engineers, aiming to equip non-medical professionals with essential life-saving skills and emergency response knowledge.
The training was conducted by Dr. Sachin Makade and Dr. Leena Ingale Gedam, who provided demonstrations of COLS techniques, explaining the importance of immediate chest compressions during cardiac emergencies.
Participants were further encouraged to actively engage in hands-on training using mannequins, allowing them to practice and understand the correct method of performing compression-only CPR.
Panchrakshak Awareness
As part of the social outreach component, the participants were also educated about the “Panchrakshak” concept, which emphasizes the role of responsible bystanders in providing immediate assistance during emergencies.
A demonstration of Panchrakshak principles was conducted to ensure better understanding and practical application in real-life situations.
