Celebrating Mothers with Safety: ISA Nagpur Conducts COLS Training at Indira IVF Centre
On International Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 11, 2025, ISA Nagpur City Branch provided the ultimate gift: life-saving skills. Partnering with Indira IVF Centre, ISA-NCB conducted a crucial COLS (Compression-Only Life Support) training program for new and expectant mothers, their families, and staff. The session empowered 75–80 enthusiastic participants with the confidence to act during a cardiac emergency.
What better way to celebrate International Mother’s Day than by promoting safety and the capacity to protect a loved one?
On Sunday, May 11, 2025, the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists, Nagpur City Branch (ISA-NCB), organized a specialized COLS (Compression-Only Life Support) training program at the Indira IVF Centre, Nagpur. The initiative was specifically targeted at new mothers, would-be mothers, their relatives, and the center’s staff.
Empowering Families at Indira IVF
The session was led by Dr. Shweta Bulle, a Consultant Anaesthesiologist at Indira IVF Centre and an Executive Committee member of ISA-NCB. Her dual role ensured that the training was not only medically accurate but also perfectly tailored to the unique environment and concerns of the participants.
Dr. Bulle provided clear, step-by-step guidance on performing COLS, highlighting how prompt action can significantly increase the chances of survival after a sudden cardiac arrest.
The response was overwhelming. A dedicated group of approximately 75 to 80 enthusiastic mothers, relatives, and staff members participated. The interactive training included extensive hands-on practice on mannequins, allowing everyone to gain the muscle memory and confidence required to perform the procedure effectively in a real-life crisis.
ISA-NCB is proud to collaborate with institutions like Indira IVF Centre to expand the circle of safety within the community, reinforcing our commitment to ensuring that families are in “Safe Hands.”
