Tribal COLS Training at Lok Biradari Hospital, Hemalkasa

As part of its Public Awareness and Social Outreach initiatives, the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists – Nagpur City Branch (ISA–NCB) extended its life-saving training programs to tribal communities through a special outreach activity at Lok Biradari Hospital, Hemalkasa.

The program was led by Dr. Harshraj Bhendale and was conducted during the annual surgical camp at the hospital established by Dr. Prakash Amte. The objective of the activity was to spread awareness about emergency life-saving techniques among tribal populations living in remote areas.

During the camp, approximately 100 local and tribal villagers were trained in Compression-Only Life Support (COLS). The training was delivered in the local language to ensure better understanding and participation.

The session included demonstrations using mannequins, allowing participants to observe and practice correct chest compression techniques for responding to sudden cardiac arrest. The trainers emphasized the importance of immediate action and early chest compressions before professional medical help arrives.
