COLS Training at Vidarbha Science Exhibition
As part of its Public Awareness and Social Outreach initiatives, the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists – Nagpur City Branch (ISA–NCB) actively promoted life-support training and emergency response education across different sectors of society.
One of the key outreach activities was conducted during the Vidarbha Science Exhibition held at Dharampeth Science College, Nagpur. The activity was led by Dr. Sheetal Dalal along with members of the SAMS and ISA–NCB team.
During the two-day exhibition, the team organized continuous demonstrations and hands-on training sessions on Compression-Only Life Support (COLS). The sessions were specially designed to educate school students of 8th and 9th standards, along with teachers and parents, about the importance of immediate response during cardiac emergencies.
Participants were trained in basic chest compression techniques and emergency response steps, enabling them to understand how timely intervention can help save lives during sudden cardiac arrest.
To further reinforce learning, a COLS instructional video was continuously displayed on the main stage throughout the event, ensuring that a large audience could observe and learn the correct techniques of life-support training.
