Anaesthesia Week Celebration: BLS Training at DMMC Nagpur

ISA-NCB celebrated Anaesthesia Week with a Basic Life Support training program at DMMC Nagpur, featuring lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on CPR training for participants.

As part of the Anaesthesia Week celebrations, the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists – Nagpur City Branch (ISA-NCB) organized a Basic Life Support (BLS) training and hands-on workshop on 14 October 2025 at Datta Meghe Medical College (DMMC), Nagpur.

The program was conducted in collaboration with the Department of Anaesthesiology and the School of Virtual Learning, DMMC Nagpur, with the objective of spreading awareness about life-saving emergency response techniques among healthcare learners.

The session began with an informative lecture by Dr. Anjali Borkar, Professor and Head, who discussed the importance of Basic Life Support in both in-hospital and out-of-hospital emergency situations. Her lecture emphasized the critical role of early intervention and effective CPR in improving survival outcomes during cardiac emergencies.

Following the lecture, Dr. Roshani Manwani, Executive Committee Member of ISA-NCB, demonstrated the correct BLS chest compression technique, explaining the steps involved in performing effective CPR.

Further demonstrations and hands-on training were conducted by Dr. Shivani Wargantiwar and Dr. Pankaj, members of ISA-NCB. Participants were given the opportunity to practice CPR techniques under supervision, helping them gain confidence and practical experience.

The activity was an important part of Anaesthesia Week awareness initiatives, reinforcing ISA-NCB’s commitment to educating healthcare professionals and promoting life-saving skills within the medical community.
