ISA NCB Organizes Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Workshop at IMACON & Youthcon 2025
Introduction
The Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists (ISA), Nagpur City Branch (NCB) successfully conducted a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Workshop for undergraduate (UG) students, postgraduate (PG) students, and delegates during IMACON and Youthcon-25, Nagpur, on 8th November 2025.
The workshop was organized under the able leadership and guidance of Dr. Sachin Makade, President of ISA NCB, with the aim of strengthening life-saving emergency response skills among young medical professionals.
The program received an overwhelming response, with approximately 300 students and delegates participating in the educational activity.
Educational Session and Demonstration
The academic session began with an informative lecture on Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) delivered by:

The lecture covered essential aspects of emergency cardiac care, including:
- Early recognition of cardiac arrest
- Importance of immediate response
- Proper chest compression techniques
- Airway management
- Coordination during resuscitation efforts
To enhance understanding, a live stage demonstration was simultaneously conducted by:
- Dr. Puja Kanthawar
- Dr. Kirti Gujarkar
The demonstration allowed participants to visualize correct BCLS procedures and understand the practical application of life-saving techniques.
Hands-On BCLS Workshop
Following the lecture and demonstration, participants took part in a hands-on BCLS training workshop designed to provide practical experience.
Workshop Structure
The training was conducted in four batches, ensuring focused learning and interactive participation.
- Each batch included approximately 35–40 students and delegates
- Participants practiced hands-on resuscitation techniques
- Faculty trainers supervised and guided each participant
The workshop enabled attendees to practice critical life-saving skills in a structured and supportive learning environment.
Enthusiastic Participation
Participants showed great enthusiasm and keen interest during the practical sessions. The hands-on training format helped students and delegates build confidence in performing BCLS techniques effectively.
Due to the huge and overwhelming response from participants, the IMACON organizing committee requested ISA NCB to conduct the BCLS workshop again on the following day of the conference, highlighting the program’s success and impact.
