I.S.A.N.C.B – My baby
I just can’t believe that my baby to completing 50 years of its being! Or would be celebrating Golden jubilee this year.
It came to existence with 10 members (That was a prerequisite for formation of city branch) in 1973, in the gracious presence of the then National President late Dr. N.P. Sigh. The resonance were meager but enthusiasm was great. For every event we had to collect money from the members. Pharmaceutical companies or equipment companies wouldn’t come forward like today to sponsor. But somehow we sailed through.
I was the founder secretary for 6 years. The first ever conference held by NCB was 2nd Maharashtra State conference in 1984 at a short notice of 3 months. With the cooperation of members, Dr. Shrirao in particular we could manage it well. After that the financial position improved a little.
All the secretaries of ISA NCB worked hard to the best of their ability. Dr. Tambe took pains to improve the finances of NCB. We continued to had academic and cultural events.
Today you see NCB as a full grown tree, loaded with fruits (over 300 members) with great success. Workshops, CMEs are also conducted. The first National conference of I.S.A was held in the year 2000 with Dr. Phadke as organising secretary. It was a grand success. Dr. Ghosh made the scientific programme very fruitful and memorable.
It gives me immense pleasure to see the progress of the sapling planted in 1973. I am happy to be instrumental for it. I am witness to the prosperous evolution of NCB. For the last over a decade the NCB has prospered leaps and bounds in every aspect and respect. Every team of office bears are trying to do better than the previous ones. The teamwork is commendable. The innovative ideas are praise worthy. The advances in technology has also played important role.
The branch is bagging no. of awards including best branch award for 7-8. Consecutive, years at national level. Keep it up my young friends. I am proud to be a part of this great branch.
Incidentally it will be celebrating silver jubilee of my retirement this year have i offer my blessings to you all Long live ISA-NCB.
