Sareethon Walkathon 2026: Public Awareness Drive on International Women’s Day

March 13, 2026

On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2026, ISA–NCB organized a vibrant and meaningful Sareethon Walkathon — a community walk in traditional attire — to promote public awareness about anaesthesia safety, COLS (Community-Oriented Life Support), and the Panchrakshak emergency-response protocol.

The walkathon saw enthusiastic participation from ISA–NCB members, healthcare professionals, and community volunteers, all dressed in sarees and traditional attire in tribute to the spirit of Women’s Day. Participants carried informative placards highlighting key messages about anaesthesia awareness, the importance of CPR, and the five steps of the Panchrakshak protocol.

At various points along the route, live COLS demonstrations were conducted for bystanders and onlookers, turning the walkathon into a hands-on awareness drive. Members of the public were invited to learn basic CPR techniques and understand how they can be a first responder in a cardiac emergency.
