ISANCB Conducts BCLS, COLS and Pancharakshak Training Workshop at Seven Star Hospital, Nagpur

October 17, 2026

The Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists, Nagpur City Branch (ISANCB), conducted a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Compression-Only Life Support (COLS), and Pancharakshak training programme at Seven Star Hospital, Nagpur, on 15 October 2026.

The programme aimed to enhance awareness of cardiac emergencies and equip hospital staff with essential life-saving knowledge and practical emergency response skills.

Dr Sachin Makade, Past President, ISANCB (2025–26), delivered a lecture on BCLS and explained the importance of recognising cardiac emergencies and responding promptly. The session also included a demonstration of Pancharakshak, which focuses on five life-saving skills.

Hands-on training was conducted by Dr Anant Atkar, Executive Member, ISANCB. Approximately 40 hospital staff members and attendants participated in the training-cum-workshop. Participants practised life-saving techniques on mannequins and worked through various emergency scenarios to strengthen their practical understanding.

The interactive format enabled participants to gain hands-on experience and better understand how to respond during potentially life-threatening situations.

Through this initiative, ISANCB continued its efforts to promote life-saving education among hospital personnel and encourage preparedness for cardiac emergencies. The workshop highlighted the importance of combining theoretical knowledge with practical training to improve awareness and confidence in emergency response.
