ISA Nagpur Conducts BCLS, COLS and Pancharakshak Training at Saraswati Kidney Care Center
The Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists (ISA), Nagpur City Branch, conducted a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Compression-Only Life Support (COLS), and Pancharakshak awareness and training programme at Saraswati Kidney Care Center, near Jaiprakash Nagar Metro Station, New Sneh Nagar, Nagpur, Maharashtra, on 18 October 2026. The programme was organised as part of the World Anaesthesia Week celebrations.

The initiative aimed to promote awareness of cardiac emergencies and equip healthcare personnel and attendees with essential life-saving knowledge and practical skills.
Approximately 40 participants, including Resident Medical Officers (RMOs), nursing staff, other paramedical staff, and patients’ relatives, attended the programme. The session included an educational lecture, demonstrations, and hands-on mannequin training to help participants understand and practise basic life-saving techniques.
Participants were taught BCLS, COLS, and Pancharakshak—the five life-saving skills. The techniques were explained and demonstrated with the help of a volunteer, providing participants with a practical understanding of emergency response and the importance of timely intervention.
The programme was conducted by Dr Deepak Madankar, President, ISA Nagpur City Branch (2026–27), along with Dr Sweety Pasari, Consultant Anaesthesiologist, Nagpur. Dr Amit Pasari and Dr Manish Balwani, Consultant Nephrologists, also attended the programme.
The interactive training encouraged participants to recognise the importance of responding promptly to medical emergencies and strengthened awareness of essential life-saving skills among hospital staff and patients’ relatives.
Through such initiatives during World Anaesthesia Week, ISA Nagpur City Branch continues to promote life-saving education and encourage greater preparedness for cardiac emergencies across the community.
