On 15th June 2025, Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists – Nagpur City Branch (ISA NCB) conducted a Compression Only Life Support (COLS) Training Program during a social function organized by King Cobra Social Foundation.

The foundation is an active social organization engaged in multiple revolutionary initiatives for societal welfare, with its current mission focused on “Fight Against Injustice.”

The event witnessed an overwhelming participation of approximately 300 individuals, representing diverse age groups and various sections of society.

Lecture and Demonstration

The lecture-cum-demonstration session was delivered by:

Dr. Umesh Ramtani
President, ISA–Nagpur City Branch

Dr. Ramtani elaborated on:

  • Recognition of sudden cardiac arrest
  • Importance of immediate chest compressions
  • Activation of emergency medical services
  • Role of bystanders in saving lives

The hands-on training was conducted in structured batches using mannequins to ensure that each participant gained practical exposure and confidence in performing compression-only CPR.

Distinguished Guests

The program was graced by eminent dignitaries:

  • Mr. Jaisingh Chauhan
    Director, Association of Disability Development, Maharashtra State (BJP)
  • Mr. Rohit Mathani
    Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch), Nagpur

Both dignitaries appreciated the proactive efforts of ISA NCB in spreading life-saving skills among the general public and strengthening community preparedness.

“SAFE HANDS – Know Your Anaesthesiologists” Initiative

As part of ISA NCB’s ongoing public awareness mission titled:

“SAFE HANDS – Know Your Anaesthesiologists”

An Anaesthesia Informative Handbook was distributed among participants.

The handbook covered:

  • Types of anaesthesia
  • Common myths and facts
  • Safety aspects of modern anaesthesia
  • Role of anaesthesiologists beyond the operation theatre
  • Information about ISA NCB activities

This initiative aimed to enhance public understanding and build trust regarding anaesthesia practices.

Participants actively engaged in discussion, and all queries were addressed comprehensively by Dr. Umesh Ramtani.
